Want to help out but can't commit? Here's something for the part-time animal lovers: fostering! You can temporarily foster any animal in your own home. This will give them more time to find a permanent home, create more space in the shelter for other incoming animals, and save lives. Interested? Read more about fostering an animal here.

When considering a new addition to your family please choose a rescued pet. They won't make it without you.

Petey This is Chicken Dumpling’s foster parent, my name is Joe. I wanted to thank you all for adding the unwanted pets of Philadelphia section to your radio commercials; it really reaches a lot of people! Chicken has been up for adoption for over a year! She was the longest standing resident at PAWS and it seemed like she was never going to find a home; because of you all I received a phone call from someone who heard about her on Radio 104.5 and now she has finally been placed and from what I've heard she is very happy! I can't thank you all enough. Keep up the good work! Us foster parents appreciate the help! Thanks!

PeteyHey guys!! Thanks for playing great music - I love the station and listen to it ALL THE TIME!! It's like you are playing every song for me! Also, I just wanted to say thanks so much for airing the "The 10 Least Wanted". I heard the ad for Petey - the 4-6 y.o. cat with diabetes. I knew the first time I heard that commercial, I just absolutely had to adopt him!! Thanks to you guys, I now have the coolest and cutest cat ever (well, besides her new sister cat - they share that title!)!! The Philadelphia PAWS is a wonderful rescue organization - everyone was soo nice and helpful there and the animals are well taken care of!! Although they are well taken care of and loved by the staff, they still need homes. I urge anyone who can and is willing to adopt, to go down to the Philadelphia PAWS (located at 100 N. 2nd Street (at Arch), Philadelphia, PA 19106). Remember, older animals still need places to live too, and it is up to us to give them that nice, loving home. A loyal listener, Deb

Adopt Duncan

Meet Duncan! Duncan is 6-8 months old, and as soft as can be. He came to us from an outdoor feral colony. He is still very scared and timid but he has made tremendous progress with us. Duncan is looking for a quiet home with patient owners who can help him come out of his shell. A home that has outgoing cats would be an ideal setting for him. If you are interested in giving this shy boy a chance, please e-mail robin@phillypaws.org to set up a time to meet him.

Adopt Darla

Darla is a 55-pound, 1-2 year old American Pit Bull Terrier mix who was recently found as a stray. Darla seems to do well with other dogs but she needs a home without cats. Darla has tons of energy and needs an owner who can keep up with her. She is always ready to play and have fun and would make an excellent running partner. Once she has expended her energy, Darla loves to cuddle and be around people. If you are interested in meeting Darla, please e-mail adoptions@phillypaws.org.

Adopt Cece

CeCe is an approximately 2.5 year-old long-haired dilute calico cat. Cece was returned for us due to litter box issues. We are hoping to find her a quiet home that is willing to use a special litter for her and give her the time she needs to properly adjust to a new home. This beautiful girl is also extremely affectionate so make sure you have time for a demanding cat! CeCe plays rough (she nips), so she'd do best in a home without small children. CeCe has a long, beautiful coat that should be brushed every other day to prevent matting. Cece must be an only pet because of her litter box issues. If you are interested in giving this special cat a home please e-mail adoptions@phillypaws.org or stop by the adoption center at 100 N 2nd St to meet her.

Adopt Baby

Baby is a 4-5 year old, 60 pound Husky/Pit Bull mix. He is a great dog, and with the right family he will be the loving pet you have always wanted! He is cage-trained and has most recently been free to roam the house. He is not a chewer, but he finds the trash very intriguing. He walks well on a leash and loves to meet new people and is great with other dogs! Baby loves to play and can sometimes be a little rambunctious so he would do better in a household where there are no small children. Baby LOVES attention and would do best in a situation where he isn't left alone for extended periods of time on a daily basis. He listens to voice commands very well and is very loyal to his family. He loves the water and basking in the sun! If you are interested in adopting Baby, please e-mail robin@phillypaws.org.

nichelle

Hi, I’m Reese Witherspoon! I'm a 1-2 year old cat and I have been waiting for almost six months for a home. I was brought to the shelter by my family, who said they were allergic to me. I'm a pretty calm and mild-mannered gal who would like to be your only pet since I don't like to share the spotlight! I love to have my head and ears scratched, but I’m also content to be by myself, so if you’re looking for a companion that doesn’t need constant attention, I am the one for you! Please come visit me at PAWS’ Adoption Center and take me home. I've watched so many other cats leave to be with their new families. I want to find my forever family too!For more information please e-mail adoptions@phillypaws.org.

Adopt Teena

Teena is a lovely pit mix between 2 and 4 years old who was abandoned at the shelter. She’s a little fearful, but if you are patient with her, she soon warms up to you. Teena forms bonds with people very quickly and then loves nothing more than to stay at their side and snuggle. She’s had puppies sometime in the past and gets along well with other male dogs. She is not used to cats, so she probably should not live with them. Teena would really benefit from leaving the shelter and getting used to life in a stable, loving home. If you are interested in learning more about Teena, please e-mail robin@phillypaws.org.

Scarlet

Scarlet is a stunning tortie, and just over a year old. She knows she’s beautiful and in true diva fashion, Scarlet will let you know when she wants attention and does not appreciate other pets getting in her limelight. While Scarlet isn’t a big fan of being held she does love to be petted. To make sure she gets all the attention a true star demands she would prefer to live in a home without any young children or other animals. If you are interested in meeting Scarlet, please e-mail adoptions@phillypaws.org or stop into PAWS’ adoption center at 2nd & Arch Streets.

Adopt Cassie

Cassie, is a playful, energetic 1.5 year old cat that who was found on Temple’s campus in the middle of the winter and was brought to the shelter. She waited five long months for a home before being adopted, only to be returned a few days later because she was too much cat for her new family. This time Cassie is looking to stick her landing! She is very entertaining and always up to something! Whether it's chasing her favorite string or exploring a new room, Cassie is always in motion. She currently lives in a room at PAWS’ Adoption Center with several other cats, but she needs a home without dogs. Cassie is super friendly and even gives kisses, but she would do best in a home with children over 10 because she plays a bit rough. Please give her the forever family she deserves! If you are interested in meeting or learning more about Cassie, please come to PAWS Adoption Center, 100 North 2nd Street, Philadelphia, PA 19106 or e-mail adoptions@phillypaws.org.

Mia the cat

Fonz looks like a big, tough guy but don't let that fool you. He's really just a lovable boy looking for a new home. Fonz has been in foster care for over a year. It is probably hard for him to find a home since he is your average tabby cat. Please give him a chance at knowing what a forever home is. This 4-6 year-old big, striped Tom cat is neutered and ready to move in with his new forever family. To meet him and possibly adopt, please email his foster family at jackson@daddisfc.com.

Adopt Sooki

Sooki is a 2 year old female Pit Bull mix who was found as a stray. Life on the streets was rough on her, so Sooki can be timid and we suspect she has suffered some abuse in her past. Sooki needs someone to help her live a normal life. She is a loving girl who likes to play with dogs she trusts, but she needs proper introductions. It would be ideal for her to go to an adopter who is willing to help build her confidence with an active lifestyle. Sooki would make a great jogging partner! Sooki is crate trained, and has not previously lived with cats. Sooki is spayed and up to date on her shots. If you are interested in meeting Sooki, please e-mail adoptions@phillypaws.org.
