Several news agencies are reporting that Nelson Mandela has died at the age of 95 after a series of health issues over the past year. If you're not familiar with the impact of Nelson Mandela, please read up. Mandela was prisoned for 27 years for fighting against segregation before becoming the first black South African to become President in 1994.
Listen to a song The Special AKA wrote about Mandela below.
Nelson Mandela made a diference. RIP Nelson Mandela
Awhile back, I posted the Lurgan cover of Avicii's & Aloe Blacc's 'Wake Me Up', in Gaeilige/Irish-Gaelic.
Now, you check out Lurgan's cover of Bastille's 'Pompeii'. How'd he do?
Is Lurgan the Irish version of NY's PS22?

Did you know that our friend Jared Leto moonlights as actor when he's not performing with Thirty Seconds To Mars. OK, you knew that...
Thirty Seconds To Mars has gotten most of Jared's attention over the past few years, however, he did take 25 days to make his first film in about 6 years, Dallas Buyers Club, and possibly set himself up for an Academy Award.
Jared sat down with Jon Stewart on The Daily Show last night and discussed a variety of topics including his preparation for this role, which required him to quickly lose 30-40 pounds. Jared's diet essentially included starvation before returning to a 400 calorie/day diet.
Jared also disccussed the release of his own Documentary, Artifact, based on his legal battle with his record label, EMI.
Check out Jared's Daily Show interview below

This is pretty clever. Check out this video of a live acoustic mashup of the most overplayed songs of 2013...errr biggest songs of the year. All of these songs have achieved their status through presence on Pop radio. Not sure if we should be happy or sad that several Radio 104.5 songs found their way into the mashup! (thanks to Mashable for the tip)
Either way, have some and maybe this will help inspire your picks for the Obligatory Year End Awards
