Jamie And The Guarded Heart - "Drop That Needle"

Say what you want about other city's music scenes, but I think here in Philly we have the best of the best!!

One shining example? Our very own Jamie And The Guarded Heart, who you may have heard live on the radio a few months back for our Live At 5 feature.

Today, the band releases a brand new music video for their new track "Drop That Needle," and the video is a love note to some of their favorite spots in the Philly area (including my favorite record store)!

Of the track itself frontman Jamie Salvatore says: “This song is about getting lost in adulthood. Feeling ragged. Missing the days of long nights, the cigarette talks outside of bars, the bulls**t jobs, the freedom chase and the partners in crime. I’ve had a few accomplices in my days; my high school buddies who are still my best friends, my brothers, my uncle, Cocaine Mike, and of course the most badass, Morgan. This is for them. This is for you. One last heist before the Summer’s gone.”

Of the video he says: "We shot the video for “Drop That Needle” at a few locations spread out over four days with the super talented Jackie Pursell. Starring the unofficial band member, Rich Madel, as Detective Pat Minfield. Filmed at The Lannutti Post in Conshohocken (thanks Russ!), Axis in King of Prussia (thanks Bill!), at the best record store ever, Vinyl Closet Records in Norristown, and on the streets of Bridgeport."

Don't worry, no records were actually stolen in the making of this video, and from what I know none of this will affect any of the member's criminal records!

Huge thanks to the band for asking me to premiere this jam here! So vibe out to "Drop That Needle!"
